Salford Quays sits on the water at the edge of Salford, a short hop from Trafford Park and central Manchester. It is a suburban area with a modern feel: waterside walkways, the Lowry Outlet, cinemas and bars all within half a mile of each other.
It is not a quiet village, and it is not a traditional terraced neighbourhood either. The Quays is busy, built-up and made up of a lot of newer blocks, with older Salford streets like Ordsall and Langworthy just behind it.

Getting around
Buses are the backbone here. Trafford Wharf Road is roughly a third of a mile away, with Sir Alex Ferguson Way and the Waterside stop under a mile, and Salford Shopping Centre stops a little over a mile off.
